For over 22 years, Melbourne's Cheapest Soils has been more than just a name—it's been our family's promise. It started with a simple idea from owner and founder, Brett Crooks. With years of hands-on experience in landscaping, building pools and even sign writing, he loved the challenge of creating something beautiful from nothing.

He saw that gardeners, landscapers and builders across Melbourne's West were paying too much for supplies from big companies that had huge overheads and little personal connection.

He knew there had to be a better way.

The vision was clear … create a business that cuts out the middleman, delivering high-quality materials directly from the quarry to the customer.

This would not only keep prices down but also ensure the quality was never compromised.

We don't dilute our soils with cheap 'clean fill' to make them go further; you get pure, nutrient-rich products every single time.

Today, Melbourne’s Cheapest Soils is a true family affair. When you work with us, you're working with Brett, his wife Tara, his son Bailey and daughter-in-law Taydem.

We’re a small, tight-knit team and we wouldn't have it any other way.

And we’ve found our groove with a team that’s majority-female! Three girls and two boys who prove every day that passion and a strong work ethic are what matter most.

Our customers are often surprised to see a woman behind the wheel of a delivery truck, but for us, it's just another day on the job.

Our girls are not only fantastic drivers who look after the equipment, but they also provide the kind of customer service that leaves the guys in the dust.

Just ask Tara. She came to us from a career in banking, saw we needed reliable drivers and decided to solve the problem herself by going out and getting her truck licence.

That's the can-do attitude that drives our ENTIRE business.
